Phenomenal food. For all SPICY LOVERS, I consistently run into the issue of asking for as spicy as you can make it and most companies not able to provide that. Requested Extra Thai Spicy. 11/10 Spicy on the Singapore Noodles and I was not disappointed. Props to Kokita for actually making it spicy enough for me. Thank you so much. 100% recommend.

We got takeout dinner and we are visiting from out of town. We ordered the following: Hibachi crab meat Sushi-California Roll on Fire Egg Drop Soup We eat sushi all the time and have eaten it all over the country. We thought this cooked roll was excellent. We also found the egg drop soup to be very good. We deducted a star because we were not expecting nor advised that the crab was imitation, plus the accompanying salad included a ranch dressing, which was not something that was asked if we wanted. Overall a good experience but not superior but I would definitely give them another visit.

This place has the best service. The food is great and it has a few fish tanks where you can watch while you eat. This is a veggie sushi roll with cream cheese. YUM! If you have a special order they will do what they need to make it the way you like or need.

I got the teriyaki chicken bowl, the bourbon chicken bowl, and the crab hibachi — and everything was excellent! The flavors were spot on, the portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly made. My only small wish is that the shrimp sauce were a little thicker. I’d also love to see a steak or crab bowl option — something simple with just meat and rice would be perfect. Overall, amazing food and definitely a spot I’ll come back to!

Sushi… in Sweetwater? Yeah, I was skeptical too. When your friends in a town of less than 7,000 say they’re craving sushi, you smile, nod, and quietly prepare your taste buds for disappointment. But hey—sometimes you just have to roll with it (I’ll see myself out). We ordered a bunch of rolls to share and… what?! They were actually really good. Super fresh ingredients, rice that was seasoned like someone actually cared, balanced flavors, and that magical combo of creamy, crunchy, and chewy. Honestly, we were impressed—and kind of shocked. The vibe? Meh. The lighting was doing weird things (don’t blame us if our food photos look like they were taken on Mars). Service was friendly, but here’s the twist: we wanted more sushi, but the chef was apparently tired. At 7pm. On a Thursday. Meanwhile, across the street? People are partying like it’s 1999—dancing, drinking, singing karaoke. That’s some potential sushi business just walking right on by. Bottom line: weird lighting, sleepy sushi chef, great rolls. For a tiny town? This place punches way above its weight.

Tucked away in the heart of Sweetwater, Tennessee, Kokita Asian Cuisine is a surprising gem that delivers authentic Asian flavors with a genuine passion for quality. This unassuming spot at 501 N Main St offers a diverse menu where bold, vibrant dishes shine—especially if you crave spice. Take it from Josh Thompson, a self-proclaimed spice enthusiast, who praises their Singapore Noodles for hitting that coveted “extra Thai spicy” level with a fiery consistency that most places fail to achieve. It’s a rare feat that speaks volumes about Kokita’s dedication to flavor precision and customer satisfaction.

The sushi at Kokita also commands attention. Adriana Franco and Kelly Kyde, both with extensive sushi experience, note the freshness and well-balanced textures—from creamy to crunchy—that make their rolls more than just a distant town’s afterthought. The cooking, seasoning, and ingredient quality come together in harmony, giving each bite a purposeful and well-crafted taste. Even a cooked roll like the “California Roll on Fire” impresses with its layered flavors, while their egg drop soup offers comforting warmth, making the meal well-rounded.

Generous portions and freshly prepared dishes are another hallmark here, as Adrienne Marshall’s experience with the teriyaki and bourbon chicken bowls attests. Each bowl is a well-executed blend of savory sauces and tender proteins paired with rice, a staple for satisfying meals. While she wished for thicker shrimp sauce and the addition of simple meat-and-rice options like steak or crab bowls, the overall quality keeps her coming back, which is a testament to Kokita’s consistent charm.

Beyond the food, Kokita Asian Cuisine creates a welcoming environment that's enhanced by a touch of ambiance with live fish tanks—a peaceful spectacle that elevates the dining experience and invites diners to linger. Their service stands out for its flexibility and thoughtful accommodations, prepared to customize orders to personal tastes or dietary needs. This attentive approach builds loyalty and comfort in a small-town setting.

Admittedly, the ambiance has its quirks—uneven lighting and a sometimes tired sushi chef hint at growing pains rather than lack of effort. Yet, the culinary wins are undeniable. For a town with under 7,000 residents, Kokita Asian Cuisine punches well above its weight. It’s a place you stumble upon with low expectations and leave impressed by the thoughtful execution, bold flavors, and genuine warmth found in each dish and interaction.

For lovers of spicy cuisine, fresh sushi, and Asian comfort food that respects its roots while serving generous portions, Kokita Asian Cuisine is a must-visit in Sweetwater. Whether dining in or picking up takeout, prepare for a flavorful journey that’s as welcoming as it is authentic.
